ANITA MAY BALDWIN STATUE TO BE UNVEILED AT LE MÉRIDIEN HOTEL October 4, 2021 – The Anita May Baldwin Statue at the Le Méridien Hotel will be unveiled on Monday, October 25, 2021. Anita is the daughter of the City's founder, Elias Jackson "Lucky" Baldwin. The first time I went to the Tallac Historic Site was to model in a fashion show in 2019. Not for the Gatsby Tea fashion show; this one was an informative comparison of how fashion changed from the 1890’s to the 1920’s. My family was recruited by Mary Gibson, the head costumer, as models to wear the outfits in the presentation. At Tallac Historic Site, a unique National Forest area sandwiched between the Taylor Creek Visitor Center and Camp Richardson, is where you will find evidence of the Washoe People adjacent to the Tallac Museum as well as within the museum.
